Hafsa

As an accomplished professional with a rich background spanning 20+ years in the fields of learning and evaluation, Hafsa’s expertise lies in proposal writing, fundraising, and crafting comprehensive evaluation frameworks that embrace innovative decolonizing research methodologies. Her efforts in drafting successful proposals have secured approximately $30 million in funding for movements and organizations within the Global South from funders including W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Libra Foundation, NoVo Foundation, Foundation for a Just Society, Wellspring Fund, Open Society Foundation and The Christensen Fund to name a few. Hafsa’s journey has been enriched by engaging with over 60 BIPOC groups and social movements, from whom she has garnered invaluable insights into decolonizing impact principles.  This interaction has exposed her to new Indigenous and Global South impact frameworks and has informed her consulting practice as she supports philanthropic clients in developing organization-wide learning and evaluation solutions. Additionally, in Hafsa’s role as a faculty member at the University of San Francisco, she’s co-created curricula aimed at fostering sustainable social impact and has guided roughly 200 Master’s students through the intricacies of program evaluation. Presently, Hafsa is spearheading the development of a learning and practice community in collaboration with funders eager to implement decolonizing approaches to strategic planning, theories of change, and robust learning and evaluation frameworks.
